Akim One Machine
Graffiti activist from Berlin. Like a true scientist AOM devoted time and gathered knowledge to create graffiti and typography styles that literally come off the wall. Experiments with colleague Zast (a.o.) lead to new formats in graffiti and street language.
Boris Hoppek
Is well known for his authentic character design and installations. His work covers the fields of illustration and melts into 3D lifesize characters and drawings. He creates an alternative and very cinegraphic reality which can be both funny and scary at the same time.
Cream
Is an upcoming experimentalist on 3D graffiti from Berlin (D). Being very enthusiastic to partcipate in this project we invited him over to show everybody what he's all about.
Esher
Lives and works in Berlin and has been active studying and practising graffiti for over a decade and a half, developing skills and knowledge on how to use graphics. Besides working for commerical clients, Esher is still keeping it real dropping bombs underground.
Heiko Zahlmann
Technically very skilled and well known for doing 'bigger walls'. Member of the Getting Up team, which is famous for doing big high quality productions and for the organizing of big graffiti related artshows under the name of 'Urban Discipline'.
Keramik
AKA Mr. Horse from Vienna is a very creative, slightly cynical and very funny criminal. Keramik's work vibrates this feeling too. Reality is translated into a very cartoonish and comical way which might generate sympathy for those easygoing and for those who are still blue.
Mind
Colleague of Point, started writing graffiti in the streets of Prague when they were still clean. Mind works as a furniture designer/interior architect.
Neen
Notoriously undescribable international computer art collective Neen. Neen artists Rafael Rosendaal (NL), Joel Fox (USA), Miltos Manetas (GR/USA), Mai Ueda (J), Angelo Plessas (GR), Gnac/ Mark Tranmer (UK) and Jonathan Maghen (USA) a.o. have programmed an evening filled with strange, interactive VJ-ing and alienating performances. They also invited local friends Legowelt and Aux Raus to do live music performances.
Nug
Graffiti writer from one of the first graffiti clashes on Stockholm. Has an expertise in graffiti as well as an appetite for it. Practised the art of action for many years. Recently Nug is investigating the borders between graffiti and contemporary arts.
Point
One of Prague's first writers and graffiti activists. Graffiti innovator and mood maker. Together with artists like Key, Mind, Romeo and Phoe he pushed Czech graffiti to a higher-high level.
Super A
This guy from the south of Holland is one of the leading artists of the new era of experimenting with graffiti shape and different media. His alter ego/anti hero called 'Super A' is always there when new experiments are about to come to dramatic conclusions.
Viagrafik
A multidisciplinary crew that started to join forces in 98. The crew operates as a design buero, but also as individuals, each member having a unique expertise. Boe and N6 are representing Viagrafik during ArtBeat. Boe is a muralist, draws and makes monumental works. N6 works exist mostly out of sculptures and his approach is very 3D oriented.
Zedz
Originally comes from Leiden (NL), lives in Amsterdam. Has a background in graffiti and an attitude of pushing things forward. He developed a very specific graphic language. Mixing 3D with typography is his specialty.
Hanazuki Pop-up Store
Zedz built a custom Hanazuki pop-up store where ArtBeat related limited edition goodies and got to haves were sold. Hanazuki is a creative studio slash store located on Vijzelstraat in Amsterdam selling and promoting their multi discipline creative network.
Beat
Tetine
London based Brazilians Tetine are Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado. Since they met in 1995 in Sao Paulo, they have created a multitude of sound works from atonal orchestral pieces to electro punk/bailefunk/ miamibass-driven tunes. They also did a series of ritualistic performances and have extensively exhibited art films and video throughout Europe and South America. Tetine has a few albums released on different record labels (Slum Dunk Music/Bizarre Music/Soul Jazz Records/Sulphur Records/Mr Bongo). Tetine are big promoters of the Rio de Janeiro rooted 'baile funk', a currently massively popular Brazilian hiphop spin off.
Tom Trago
Also made it to the Amsterdam dj top in a relative short period of time, through residencies at Paradiso, Now&Wow and Jimmy Woo. With his contemporary eclectic sound he is a much sought after dj at festivals such as Lowlands and Kindred Spirits events. He finds his home in hip hop, soul, dub, broken beat and house. Tom recently released his first record and did some producing work as well. He continues to perfect his skills in music as he is currently enrolled in DJAM, School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
Cinnaman
Started dj-ing at the very young age of 12 using his dj-dad�s records and started buying hiphop like a maniac. By the time Cinnaman made his entrance in Amsterdam his musical interest expanded and he found his way to Rushhour, Rednose and a lot of carnaval madness. Cinnaman spins frequently in clubs like Jimmy Woo, Bitterzoet, Paradiso and Club 11.
Radio Clit
Radioclit is Etienne 'Dj' Tron and Johan. One -self proclaimed- �French fuck� and one �Swedish viking-decendant�, now based in Hackney, East London. Radioclit started as a webradio in 2003, all for the sake of promoting the music they love.
